Klepper, Hahn & Hyatt is currently initiating a search for a Landscape Architect with experience in all aspects of planning and implementation for commercial, institutional, and educational clients.

Candidates should be comfortable with all phases of project management from site analysis and schematic design to construction drawings and detailing. Designers will be tasked to manage their own projects, while under the guidance of senior staff. Applicants should be highly motivated and demonstrate practical design sensibility and technical skills.

As a Landscape Architect, you will have the opportunity to take part in the following:

  • Contribute to a firm dedicated to innovative construction and sustainable development practices
  • Perform field work/site visits, including site analysis, design and detailing of the built environment, and construction phase administration
  • Municipal reviews and approvals for site plan application, including zoning
  • Prepare drawings and construction documents
  • Work with team members in the production of contract and proposal documents

Candidates must possess:

  • Degree in Landscape Architecture
  • Technical design ability/talent
  • Experience with composing a set of drawings
  • Demonstrated project and team management abilities
  • A high degree of self-motivation, flexibility and resourcefulness

Skills and expertise:

  • Minimum 8 years of Landscape Architectural experience
  • Licensed/registered Landscape Architect required
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD to develop site, layout, landscape, and detailed plan drawings
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Practical site design skills with the natural and built environment

Klepper, Hahn and Hyatt is seeking a talented Project Engineer to join our Structural Engineering department. The ideal candidate will be a licensed engineer with a strong interest in structural engineering of buildings and architectural design and is committed to professional growth and excellence. Growth potential is significant and will be based on the candidate’s abilities and ambitions.

Essential Functions:

  • Analyze and design structural steel, concrete, masonry, cold-formed steel, and wood-framed structures in conformance with governing building codes and design standards
  • Conduct structural condition assessments of existing building and parking structures and prepare engineering reports
  • Collaboratively work with other project team members to prepare contract documents
  • Prepare neat and organized engineering calculations
  • Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines, architectural teams, and contractors
  • Perform construction administration phase services (submittal review, respond to RFI’s, conduct site visits, etc.)

Qualifications:

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university located in the United States of America
  • 3+ years of experience in the design of building structures
  • Currently licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Structural Engineer (S.E.)
  • Proficiency with current industry software, including RISA, Enercalc, TEDDS, AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)
  • Valid driver’s license

The ideal candidate will be an experienced licensed engineer with a proven track record of effectively managing engineering projects, have a strong interest in structural engineering of buildings and architectural design, and be committed to professional growth and excellence. Growth potential is significant and will be based on the candidate’s abilities and ambitions.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop fee proposals and determine staffing requirements for new projects
  • Analyze and design structural steel, concrete, masonry, cold-formed steel, and wood-framed structures in conformance with governing building codes and design standards
  • Conduct structural condition assessments of existing buildings and parking structures and prepare engineering reports
  • Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines, architectural teams, and contractors
  • Perform construction administration phase services (submittal review, respond to RFI’s, conduct site visits, etc.)
  • Review work prepared by less experienced engineering staff
  • Mentor one or more junior staff engineers, interns, or designers
  • Ensure successful project delivery through leading and organizing the project team, planning the work, delegating responsibilities, monitoring progress, confirming compliance with QA/QC protocols, and managing project deliverables

Qualifications:

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university located in the United States of America
  • 6+ years of experience in the design of building structures
  • Currently licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Structural Engineer (S.E.)
  • Proficiency with current industry software, including RISA, Enercalc, TEDDS, AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office
  • Some knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit, or ability to efficiently work with engineering staff and AutoCAD Drafters and/or BIM Technicians to produce contract documents
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a design team to develop coordinated contract documents within deadlines and project budget
  • Must be highly motivated, proactive, and willing to take on multiple challenges at a time
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)
  • Valid driver’s license

Essential Functions:

  • Analyze and design structural steel, concrete, masonry, cold-formed steel, and wood-framed structures in conformance with governing building codes and design standards
  • Conduct structural condition assessments of existing buildings and parking structures and prepare engineering reports
  • Collaboratively work with other project team members to prepare contract documents
  • Prepare technical specifications
  • Prepare neat and organized engineering calculations
  • Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines, architectural teams, and contractors
  • Perform construction administration phase services (submittal review, respond to RFI’s, conduct site visits, etc.)
  • Develop construction cost estimates for structural work indicated on contract documents
  • Review work prepared by less-experienced engineering staff
  • Mentor one or more junior staff engineers, interns, or designers
  • Project checking in accordance with QA/QC procedures

Qualifications:

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university located in the United States of America
  • 6+ years of experience in the design of building structures
  • Currently licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Structural Engineer (S.E.)
  • Proficiency with current industry software, including RISA, Enercalc, TEDDS, AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)
  • Valid driver’s license
