Summer Fun

Monday, October 15, 2018

Have you ever caught yourself staring wistfully out the office windows on a bright summer day thinking about how lovely it would be to go to a park? We’ve all been there. This year, the KHH staff took an afternoon off, picked up our families, and headed to Clark Reservation for one of those sought-after days at the park.

KHH’s annual summer picnic for staff members and their families was a blast this year. Clark Reservation’s glacier-made lake and multitude of trails provided post-picnic entertainment for many. Some went fishing while others grouped off to enjoy the trails. We all reconvened at the picnic table shelter later on to celebrate Jeffrey Packard’s 25th anniversary with the company (see more on this below), and, of course, to play a few pranks involving well-aimed water balloons.

On one of the summer’s last sweltering afternoons, we had a building-wide build-your-own ice cream sundae break. It was a great way to take a few minutes to relax as well as to spend some time with our neighbors down the hall: Bonacci Architects and the Central New York Library Resource Council. Ice cream breaks have been a summer tradition at KHH for a while now. It was a lot of fun to bring our neighbors in on it.

Now, of course, it isn’t all play here at the office, but having these brief interludes makes it easier to take our eyes off the window and focus on the work we love.
